Supporting the improvement of math instruction starts with building a collaborative professional learning network within a district. In this academy offering, we use research-based best practices of professional development and ongoing opportunities for collaboration and interaction with peers to develop a framework for constructing instructional experiences and communities of practice. We are excited to offer this innovative new model for Alabama. Together, we will find ways to engage teachers in learning best practices of standards-based instruction and assessment in addition to supporting teachers in understanding data to make next-step decisions for students in their classrooms.
