We offer three primary training models: 

  • One-to-Many Training: Pre-scheduled sessions with open enrollment  
  • Exclusive Training: Fully customized training for your organization  
  • Regional Workshops: Shared sessions with multiple organizations, offered onsite or remotely  

Each option provides live, instructor-led learning with varying levels of customization and flexibility.  

  • Use One-to-Many Training for quick upskilling of individuals or small groups  
  • Use Exclusive Training for district-wide initiatives, role-based learning, strategic adoption goals, or large training group sizes 
  • Use Regional Workshops for collaborative learning across organizations

About Instructor-Led Training

Instructor-Led Training (ILT) is live, expert-facilitated learning designed to help your team confidently and effectively use your PowerSchool solutions. Sessions are interactive and focused on real-world application.  

Implementation gets your system live, but training drives adoption. ILT ensures your team understands how to use the system effectively, reduces reliance on support, and maximizes your investment.  

Instructor-Led Training supports your team at every stage:

  • Reinforces learning after implementation  
  • Expands usage through advanced and role-based sessions  
  • Supports new staff and evolving organizational goals  

Yes. Many training options, especially Exclusive Training, are designed to support role-based user groups such as administrators, educators, and counselors.  

Training Experience

All sessions include: 

  • Live instruction from experienced PowerSchool trainers 
  • Interactive learning with discussion and guided practice  
  • Real-world scenarios tied to day-to-day responsibilities  
  • Opportunities to ask questions and engage with experts

Most sessions use a demonstration dataset to ensure a consistent experience aligned to best practices. 

Some consultative or workshop-style sessions may incorporate your organization’s data when appropriate. 

Training length varies by course, topic, and format. 

Refer to the Course Catalog or Training Calendar for detailed agendas and session timing. 

  • Exclusive Training: Up to 20 participants  
  • Certification courses: Typically up to 15 participants  
  • Shared sessions (One-to-Many or Regional Workshops): Capped based on participant limits or number of organizations  

Capacity may vary depending on the format or facility. 

  • One-to-Many and Regional Workshops: Yes, with participants from other organizations 
  • Exclusive Training: No, sessions are dedicated to your organization 

Scheduling & Logistics

  • Remote Exclusive Training: At least 7 business days recommended 
  • Onsite Exclusive Training: At least 3 weeks recommended 
  • One-to-Many Training: Register up to 48 hours before the session 
  • Regional Workshops: Timing depends on when minimum registration is met 
  • Remote (live virtual sessions) 
  • Onsite (in-person training) 
  • Blended (combination of remote and onsite) 
  • Regional Workshops (onsite or remote shared sessions)

Regional Workshops

Regional Workshops are shared, instructor-led training sessions that bring multiple organizations together in a collaborative learning environment. 

Yes. Workshops can be delivered either onsite or remotely depending on the format and audience.  

Organizations can volunteer to host a workshop. PowerSchool manages scheduling, promotion, and registration, and confirms the session once minimum enrollment is met. 

  • Onsite Workshops: Participants coordinate their own travel  
  • Remote Workshops: No travel required to attend 

Workshops may be canceled due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances up to two weeks prior. 

We recommend confirming the session before making non-refundable travel arrangements. PowerSchool is not responsible for travel-related expenses. 

Registration

  • One-to-Many Training: Self-register through PowerSource  
  • Regional Workshops: Register through PowerSource once sessions are published  
  • Exclusive Training: Submit a request at powerschool.com/training 
  • Navigate to TrainingTraining Calendar in PowerSource  
  • Select your session and click Request  
  • Complete the registration form  
  • Include your quote or project number if using existing funds  

Your seat is confirmed once you receive confirmation from PowerSchool. 

This may be because: 

  • The session is full or closed  
  • You do not have the required permissions  

Contact your PowerSchool Administrator to request access. 

You will receive a confirmation email from PowerSchool. 

You can also check your status under Training → My Training. 

If a seat becomes available, you will receive a confirmation email. 

To cancel, email training@powerschool.com. 

Cancellations within 14 days may be subject to a 50% fee plus any non-refundable expenses. 

To switch: 

  1. Cancel your current registration 
  2. Submit a new request 

Submit a request at powerschool.com/training to begin planning Exclusive Training. 

Preparing for Training

Yes: 

  • One-to-Many and Regional Workshops: 1–2 days prior 
  • Exclusive Training: Approximately 1 week prior 

Your instructor will send a meeting link along with any preparation steps, including access requirements or materials to review. 

Your training space should include: 

  • Workstations with reliable internet  
  • Projector or display screen 
  • Whiteboard or writing surface 
  • Comfortable seating 
  • Proper lighting and temperature 
  • A distraction-free environment 
  • Access to Wi-Fi/internet for presenter and participants 

Payment

Instructions are provided in your registration acknowledgment email. 

Confirmation is typically sent within: 

  • 24 hours (email submissions)  
  • 48 hours (fax submissions)  

You can also check your status in PowerSource. 

No. If training is included in your agreement, your registration will be reviewed and confirmed based on available funds. 

Yes. Contact training@powerschool.com to request an executable quote. You will receive an invoice with a secure payment link. 

Certifications

Yes. PowerSchool Certification programs validate professional competency and help build confidence, credibility, and internal expertise within your organization.
